Rachin Ravindra was born on November 18, 1999, in Wellington, New Zealand, to Indian parents.

His father, Ravi Krishnamurthy, is a software architect who played cricket at the club level in his hometown of Bangalore before settling in New Zealand. Rachin’s name is a portmanteau of the first names of two of his father’s favorite cricketers, Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar.

Career
Rachin started playing cricket at a young age and quickly showed promise. He represented New Zealand at the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2016 and 2018, and was named the rising star of the squad in the latter tournament.
In 2018, Rachin signed his first professional contract with Wellington Cricket. He made his first-class debut in the 2018/19 season and quickly established himself as a key player for the team.
In 2021, he was named New Zealand’s Young Cricketer of the Year. Rachin made his international debut for New Zealand in September 2021, in a T20I match against Bangladesh. He made his Test debut a few months later, against India

In March 2023, Rachin was named in New Zealand’s squad for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. He has scored first century of ICC world cup 2023, and began the tournament in style.

The couple has been together for a few years now and is very supportive of each other’s careers. Premila is often seen cheering on Rachin from the sidelines during his cricket matches.
